Between 1994 and 1997, Chris Benjamin served as the Campus Minister at Arkansas Tech University at Russellville. From 1997 to 2003 he was the Preaching Minister at Lake Jackson Church of Christ near Houston, Texas. His service with the West-Ark church of Christ began on November 3, 2003. He and his wife Karen are the parents of two boys.

Chris Benjamin graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1990. In 1994 he earned a Master of Divinity from Abilene Christian University. He was awarded a Doctor of Ministry degree in Spring 2004 from Abilene Christian University.
