**A Unique Day At A Unique Time**
By David Chadwell

Several have asked about the schedule of assemblies for Missions Sunday on November 10.  Below is a schedule of gatherings for that Sunday:

Bible classes -- 9:30 a.m.

All adult classes are requested to meet in the auditorium for a combined class at 9:30 a.m. that morning.  Classes for the teens and all children's classes will meet as usual in their class rooms.  We encourage all adults to assemble in the auditorium that morning.

Worship -- 10:30 a.m.

The worship assembly will begin at its usual time that Sunday morning.  Steve DeLoach will be our song leader during our praise and glorification of God.  Monte Cox will share with us.  He is a former missionary to Kenya, Africa, and is now a part of the Bible staff at Harding University.  He is quite insightful and stimulating.

11:30 a.m. (or immediately after worship):  Old Fashioned Pot Luck Meal

This will NOT be a meal prepared by Curtis McDonald and his crew.  The NOT is no commentary on their fine meals!  It is to alert everyone that the Sunday noon meal on November 10 truly will be a pot luck meal.  Curtis and his crew will prepare the banquet meal Friday evening.  It is simply too much to ask these folks to prepare two meals for one weekend!  Everyone, you have two weeks notice to think about and prepare for the pot luck meal.  Plan and prepare ahead!

12:45 Afternoon Assembly

After the meal and a time for visiting, we will gather in the auditorium for a celebration of missions.  Those who have spent time in the mission field will share with us some of their experiences. We will also spend time in song and prayer.  We hope to announce the amount contributed and pledged toward our missions outreach in 2003.  After this assembly, we will dismiss for the day.  Hopefully, by knowing this schedule, you can arrange your personal schedule accordingly.

We know and understand the economy is weak.  We know and understand that many feel forms of economic stress now they have not experienced in years.  We also know and understand that the need is enormous.  Rather than decreasing our financial needs in missions, we have increased them.  You helped make the decision to place Oscar Nolasco and his family here in a Hispanic outreach.  No one expects you to do what you cannot do.  We only ask you to do what you are able to do.

2 Corinthians 8:12 -- For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he does not have.

Dear West-Ark Family,
Thank you so much for the many cards you sent our family following the death of my father and Mark's mother. It has meant so much to Mark and I to have your prayers comforting us during this time. Although we have been gone for six years now, we still feel very close to all of you. The friendships we share with West-Ark mean a great deal to us, and we love you very much.
In Christian love,
Mark and Kathy Howell

Thank you for your prayers, the family dinner and flowers for our mother. She'll be missed by all.

**Family Life Ministry**
By Brad Pistole

Let me begin by saying THANK YOU to all of the teens that have allowed me to put my recent energy into a project that has made me somewhat unavailable to them. That’s right! The past three weeks have been committed almost solely to completing the results from the Congregational Needs Analysis that we took October 6th - 16th.

I know the teens understand the importance of this survey and what it will mean to the future ministry of this congregation. With the help of the office staff, I have read and logged the results to all of the surveys that were turned in by October 16. The information and statistics have been compiled in several different ways, and the elders have been reviewing the results for about two weeks now.

We had 499 people between the ages of 13 - adult fill out a survey. When you consider our current Sunday morning attendance and subtract visitors, infants, and  elementary aged students, it reveals that approximately 87% of our teens and adults took the time to fill out a survey. That’s fantastic!

Of the 499 people that filled out a survey, 41 were teens, 209 were adult males, and 290 were adult females. This information has already proved to be very helpful to the leadership and it will continue to bless us long into the future.

This Saturday, November 2, your leadership will spend the day discussing the results of the C.N.A. and how this information will affect planning for West-Ark in the near future. Please pray for us as we strive to know you better and lead you closer to Christ.
