**What Would People (Everywhere) Be?**
By David Chadwell

Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves (John14:8-11).

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. ...For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him ... (Colossian 1:15, 19).

Many enjoy playing the game, "What if?"  For example, what if people never had rebelled against God?  What if God could continue to view His unspoiled creation as "very good" (Genesis 1:31)?  What if we lived in a world containing no consequences produced by evil?

We do not have enough details from Genesis' brief account to describe fully such a world.  Honestly, we likely would not comprehend such a world if we saw it.  We are so accustomed to living with sin in our lives, seeing sin in our society, and surviving in a rebellious world that we are comfortable with numerous expressions of evil.

We know this much. Genesis 3:7-10 associates fear, shame, and dread of God's presence with sin's consequences.  Can you imagine a world with no need for fear, no need for shame, and no need for a dread of God's presence?  Can you imagine a world in which no human ever caused another human pain, hurt, or embarrassment in any form?  Can you imagine a world that felt open comfort in God's immediate presence?

Can you imagine living in such a society?

As a person, can you imagine never having reason to be afraid, never having reason to feel shame, and never feeling the least discomfort in God's immediate presence?

What would existence in such a world be like?  What would existence in such a society be like?  What would existence in such a life be like?

It would be like living in a world filled with people like Jesus!  It would be like being in a society filled with people like Jesus!  It would be like being a person who is like Jesus!  "What do you mean by being like Jesus?"  All people would have Jesus' values, heart, emotions, priorities, attitudes toward people, and attitudes toward God.

God sent Jesus to teach us how to be human in God's way, as He intended when He created us!  That is the heart and soul of being God's people!  It is only by learning how to be God's humans, with our created purpose in this world, that we can live in God's world.  When people observe us as God's church, they should see us learning how to be the humanity God created people to be.  "What if" that is what they saw?  "What if" what they saw were people learning how to walk with God?

**Youth News**
by Aaron Davis

I am so excited about being here this summer with the teens. Our time together will not be wasted. The calendar is full, and I mean full of events for them to do.

I have already spent some time with the junior high. I led them in a devotional time while Brad had the Sr. high out at his home for a special time of fellowship with one another. I had time to briefly get to know the new teens that I didn't know very well, and also to catch up with the ones I used to know when I was still here in the youth group.

If I were to select one passage that would best describe my mission for this summer and many years of youth ministry to come, it would be Pr. 22:6. It says to "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." I believe so strongly in what it tells us to do. We need to start while they are young, teaching them the Gospels and stories from the Bible. The older they get, the harder it is to teach them.

I can't wait for this Sunday, The first session of "Green Valley Bible Camp" (my second home as a teen). This is going to be such a good session together. I hope all of you Sr. high are able to be a part of this experience.

I am so ready to serve these kids. I have wanted to be a part of youth ministry since the day I first walked into a youth group at 12 yrs. old. It has made such an impact in my own life and I hope that I can make an impact in someone else's life. May God bless and be with us this summer and throughout our lives.
