SUNDAY NIGHTS FOR THE SAVIOR
[Summertime Sunday Nights at West-Ark Church of Christ]

Our shepherds encourage every member of the West-Ark congregation to grow spiritually through Bible study and Christian relationships.   Every Sunday night there are opportunities for you to grow spiritually and build relationships with others.  Summer is not an exception.  Please get involved in one of these groups that meet at 6 P.M. on Sunday evening . . .

Jump Start Your Week – This group meets in Room 200 upstairs.  Everyone is welcome to participate for singing, prayer, and discussion.  Jump Start Your Week meets every Sunday night until Sept. 4.  For more information contact Larry Roper, Blake Frost, or Chris Benjamin.

Growing In Faith – David Chadwell is teaching a series of lessons this summer in the Auditorium.   The lessons focus on how God enables us to grow in our faith.  The lesson time typically begins with singing and prayer. Contact David for more information.

Kids for Christ – It is time for summer movie nights in Kids for Christ. Kids for Christ is for age 2 years to 6th Grade.  Each night KFC features two age-appropriate videos with a spiritual emphasis.  Parents please bring your children upstairs to room 210 or 212 for KFC.  Contact Gary Brown for more information about KFC.

Youth Worship – All 7th and 12th graders are welcome to gather upstairs in the Family Life Center.   Brad Pistole is helping the teens discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus as they grow in their relationship to God, one another, and the church. For more information on Youth Worship and teen activities contact Brad Pistole.

Lions for Christ – All college students and college-age adults are welcome to participate in the Lions for Christ campus ministry.   On Sunday nights the LFC group meets in the Annex for prayer, praises, and spirited discussion of practical Christianity.  For more information on the Lions for Christ contact John Priester.

Thank you for all your prayers, calls, visits, and food after the death of our father, Floyd Douthit. It’s nice to be able to lean on our church family.
 Bill & Doris Stokes
 John & Anna Holley

Thank you is not an adequate expression of our feeling for the West-Ark Family during Bill’s recent illness and surgery. Your cards, visits, calls, and flowers are deeply appreciated. We can’t say enough about the prayer pager ministry. Just knowing that so many others were joining together with us in prayer for Bill was so comforting. West-Ark has demonstrated to us and the community that you truly are “disciples for Jesus eager to serve others.” God bless you all.
 Bill & Margaret Moss

Our sincerest thanks for all your good wishes and very lovely gift.

**Lost & Found Items**
Lost and found items will be displayed in the foyer for the next two weeks. Afterwards, these items will be donated to Community Outreach.

**Under the Bridge Needs**
• We need a couple of volunteers to alternate transporting the meal/food prepared at the FLC to the Garrison Avenue Bridge on the 3rd Saturdays of the month. Contact Hank or Pam Watlington for details.
• We need metal folding chairs donated for replacement and enhancement of seating for our guests at the Bridge meal. See or contact Kevin Vaught if you can help with chairs.

**GriefShare on Wednesdays**
GriefShare Support Group will start back with Session one, Wednesday, July 6th 7:00 pm in the annex. Workbooks are $12. They are recommended but not essential. There is no other cost to the student. Each session includes a video featuring interviews with leading authors, counselors, and ministers with years of expertise in grief recovery. After viewing the video, you have an opportunity to interact with others who have experienced similar losses.

You are welcome to begin attending the group at any session. Each is “self-contained,” so that you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. Then, you will be able to continue with GriefShare through the next 13-week sessions and listen to any of the videos sessions you have not attended. GriefShare features a non-denominational biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics.

**Guyana Mission 2005**
Our 4-day medical and evangelistic mission team to Stewartville, Guyana, returned home around 8:30 on Sunday evening. They treated 878 patients in the week and participated in the baptisms of 21 people! Continue to pray for the Guyanese people they served. Some mission highlights include:

Monday
One hundred fifty-eight patients were examined and treated for medical or vision problems. All people were offered private Bible studies. Three precious people chose to be baptized. At the evening service we had 93 in attendance to hear Roy Dunavin preach. One asked to be restored.

Tuesday
We treated 181 patients and witnessed 7 conversions. Another was baptized at the end of the evening service. Thirteen-year- old Azia Blasdel was baptized by her dad about 11:30 p.m. in the hotel pool. It was a thrilling experience for all involved.

Wednesday
We left the hotel about 20 minutes early and stopped briefly at the Anglican cathedral in Georgetown. This is reported to be the tallest, free-standing wooden structure in the world. To enjoy the awesome acoustics inside this beautiful building, our team sang "Our God, He Is Alive." We arrived in Stewartville a bit earlier than on previous days. There was a big crowd of people waiting in line for treatment. We quickly put the clinic together and were able to see 264 patients by 5 p.m. Four people were baptized during our clinic hours on Wednesday. One person asked to be restored.

Thursday
Our last day at the clinic seemed hotter than other days. We saw 274 patients before closing down the gate at 4:30.  Five were baptized on Thursday, bringing the total number of conversions to 21. Our final evening service had the greatest attendance with 216, including 134 children.

Many of us are making plans to return next summer. Our greatest desire is that we glorified the Savior through our service to others.

**Family Life Ministry**
By Brad Pistole

We have returned safely from a great week at Green Valley Bible Camp. We had a great night this past Sunday with all of our new 7th graders and their families. If you would like to see pictures from Senior Week at GVBC or pictures from our 7th grade welcome night, go to www.westark.org/youth and click on that event.

Now our focus shifts to our next major event. We are excited about participating for the first time in the Heifer International Project in Perryville, AR. This program helps raise global hunger awareness in young people. It teaches them about service to others and the realities of life for people who live in third world countries.

We will be taking a group of 17 to the Heifer International Project on June 24th-27th.  Our final meeting will take place this Sunday, June 19th at 5:30 p.m. in the FLC youth room. If you have not turned in your release form or paid your remaining balance, you will need to bring them with you to this meeting. See you Sunday.

Congratulations to Azia Blasdel who was baptized on Tuesday night, June 7th while on the mission trip with our Guyana Medical team. Also, Lauren Hankins recently competed in a National Gymnastic Competition in Orlando, FL and she placed 21st overall. That’s amazing! We’re proud of both of you girls!
