**KFC STARTS SUNDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 28!**
A new year of KFC begins for our kids August 28. There are two KFC groups. KFC I meets in room 212 and is for kids that are 3 years old and potty-trained through Kindergarten. (This is a correction to the e-mail;  2 year olds are not eligible.) KFC II meets in room 210 and is for grades 1-6.

Both groups enjoy singing, praying, talking and age appropriate lessons. This year KFC II will spend time together before breaking into classes by grade. First and second graders will meet together as will third and fourth grades.

NEW! This year our fifth and sixth grade class will focus on why we worship as we do and why we believe in Jesus as the Son of God. These discussions will be led by Mark Willis and Mark Hite. If you have questions about what is being taught, please see them or Gary Brown.

In addition to our classes, we will have special activities on some nights that will be really fun ... and educational at the same time. We will be sending a KFC II schedule home on August 28 so you can know who is teaching classes for your child and when special events are set. As always, we may make changes in the schedule as events occur within the congregation.

If you want your child to be in a dynamic program on Sunday evenings where they will worship and learn in creative ways, then plan on having your child in KFC starting August 28. Have them bring their Bibles and be on time for a 6:00 p.m. start.

If you have any questions at all, see Gary Brown, Mark Hite, Mark Willis, Chuck Combs, Brent Evans, Mitch Harper, Mike Burkett or Barry Owen -- this year's KFC II crowd. For KFC I, especially if you want to help, see Dwonne Cogswell.

**Notes of Thanks**
Thank you so much West-Ark Church of Christ for the wonderful and most welcomed visits to me while I was in Sparks and HealthSouth. It’s so wonderful to know that I am much loved and cared for. Thanks also for the flowers and food. It was very hard for the first couple of weeks – or months – what with the loss of three of my little birds. I owe all the healing process to God above. I love you all and praise God’s holy name for you all.
 Allie Whitaker

Thank you so much for the beautiful peace lily. It is always comforting to know our Christian family follows us during our times of sorrow. We are grateful for all of your prayers, cards, and words of comfort.

**Family Life Ministry**
By Brad Pistole

And just like that, the summer of 2005 is here and gone. It’s hard to believe that football season will be here when I write my next article. But seeing is believing!

If you don’t know what kind of things our teens at West-Ark experienced this summer, then take the time to go to our website at www.westarkchurchofchrist.org/youth and click on the different events. It will give you a brief summary of the event and you will see pictures that will help tell the story. You can also take a look at the Summer of 2005 picture board that will be displayed in the foyer above the Parent’s Information Table this week.

While the summer may be ancient history, the spiritual lessons we learned will continue to live on inside us. It’s my prayer that we will allow God to continue to shape and mold us as we let Him shine through to those we come into contact with each day.

The end of summer does not mean our spiritual opportunities have ended. He has BIG plans for you at school, in your family, and at West-Ark.

There are two events coming up in September that will bless your life. We will be taking a trip to the Passion Play in Eureka Springs on Saturday, September 10th. And the 12th annual Crosswalk Youth Rally will take place September 24th-25th.

Check out the youth board upstairs or the Parent’s Information Table in the foyer for more information. Let God use you this week to make an eternal difference in the life of someone around you!
