**VBS at West-Ark -- It’s for Everybody!**
Sunday, June 15 – Wednesday, June 18  //  6:00 – 8:00 PM, Every Evening
 
What’s the schedule each night?
• 6:00 – 6:30 PM: Everyone (children and adults) assemble in the auditorium for opening program
• 6:30 – 7:45 PM:
     o Children through 6th grade will follow their “family tribes” and go to the marketplace and other classes
     o Teens 7th – 12th will go to the marketplace and/or follow family tribes
     o Adults who are serving at VBS will go to their stations
     o All other adults can choose one of four breakout classes (see below)
• 7:45 – 8:00 PM: Assemble in the auditorium for closing event

What will Teens (7th-12th) be doing?
• Teens are encouraged to help adults in the marketplace shops, family tribes, classes, nursery, and opening program dramas
• Teens will participate in work days to help set-up and rehearse on June 11-14
 
What are the Breakout Classes for Adults?
• You’ve Seen the Skit, Now Read the Book! – Room 100
     o A Bible class based on the Scripture for each evening
• The Parenting Odyssey – Room 106
     o Equipping parents to teach their children about family, proper behavior, sexuality, and faith
• Curing the Financial Stresses of Life – Room 203
     o Discussing biblical principles for managing finances throughout life
• The Gospel and Our Culture – Room 211
     o Discovering elements of spirituality, faith, and gospel in contemporary music and television

**Remember in Prayer**
• Carol Schaper requests prayers for former West-Ark member, Ashley (Johnson) Beauchamp, who is having health problems.
• Barbara Miller had left knee replacement surgery this morning at Sparks.  She will remain in the hospital 3 - 5 days then go into a rehab facility until she has
recovered sufficiently to return home.
• Bill Beall has not yet regained his voice after carotid artery surgery; it may take as long as 3-4 months. Prayers for his recovery are requested.
• Brian Cogswell (Dave’s brother) is in HealthSouth rehab following a stroke.
• Lerene Haines requests prayers for her son, Lance, who is experiencing health problems.
• Patty Kaiser had a chemo treatment on Monday.  She appreciates all the prayers, thoughts, and concerns.
• Elaine Harcourt (friend of Jim Priester’s) is recovering from a stroke.
• Joe Ragsdale, Ed & Becky Grist’s brother-in-law, had a nuclear stress test on Monday.
• Tom Drane is in Sparks Hospital, room 422.

**Bereaved in Prayer**
• Our dear brother, Leo Atkins, died on Saturday, May 17th. Funeral services were Wednesday morning at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with graveside at
National Cemetery.
• Jordan Walker requests prayers for the family of Jim Lockard who was killed in Iraq last week.
• Louise Howard’s nephew, Matthew Prigge, was killed in a motorcycle accident Wednesday afternoon in Minnesota.  Our love and sympathy goes out to the Howard and
Prigge families in this tragic loss.

**Baby Bottles for 2008!**
Thank you for your support of the Baby Bottle Campaign.
Additional bottles are available at the Information Center.
Bottles will be collected on Father’s Day, June 15th!
With your help, Heart to Heart Pregnancy Support Center saw more than 1500 clients in 2007.

**Interested in a college-level Bible class?**
This Fall, Harding University’s Bible and Ministry Department will be offering BNEW 211: Life of Christ here at West-Ark for students at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. 
However, this 2-credit class will be available for half tuition for credit or audit to anyone of any age who is interested in studying and discussing the 4 gospels in an academic setting.  The class will meet one evening a week.  If you are interested, contact Shane Hughes at the church office for more information.
 
**Green Valley Bible Camp**
There will be a meeting on June 1 immediately after morning services for anyone interested in attending Green Valley Bible Camp the week of June 29 – July 6 and/or Day 
camp which is Monday – Thursday of that week.  We are particularly interested in securing drivers for the vans for day camp.  If you will help us or if you have any questions concerning camp, please plan to be at this meeting. 
 
**We will not have a fellowship meal on Sunday night, May 25, due to the Memorial Day weekend.**
