**West-Ark Sends
Another Student Into The Mission Field**
Trenton Schien, a
recent high school graduate and member of West-Ark Church of Christ, left this
past Friday to enter the Adventures in Missions Program (AIM) in Lubbock, TX,
which is a part of Sunset International Bible Institute. AIM is a 2-year
program beginning with intense study of God’s Word for 8 months, followed by a
12-18 month internship as an apprentice missionary. As an AIM student, he will
be sent with a team to a city around the world to work with and learn from
missionaries. The last few months will focus on preparing him for his assigned
mission point.
Trenton recently
said, “This church is and always will be my real family. It is full of
Moms, Dads, Brothers and Sisters and, for the last four years, this church has
given me love that can only come from God. I am sad that I will be leaving
my family, but I’m excited to represent West-Ark during my time in the AIM
program.”
Trenton has had
the opportunity to be part of a medical mission team to Guyana, an inner-city
mission to Houston, Texas with the Impact church and, most recently, a domestic
mission trip to the Denver, Colorado area.
As a result of
these experiences, Trenton says, “It is my great desire to be an effective and
equipped servant of God. I want to know His Word and be able to teach others
about Him. There are people everywhere who do not know who Jesus is and I want
to be a part of changing that.”
Because of the
intensity of the program, he will not be able to have a job that pays for his
living and travel expenses. He must rely on the kindness and generosity of his
church family. Many from his West-Ark church family have donated money, a
computer, and some new clothing to support Trenton while he attends school in
Lubbock, but he still needs additional funds. Trenton will also have to raise
more funds to serve on the mission field.
If you are able to
help financially, it would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot help
financially, Trenton could use your prayers and encouragement through Facebook,
or email him at schientrenton [at] gmail.com or send a text message to his cell phone. If you have questions about the AIM program or about
Trenton’s needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the church
office. Thanks, and God bless you for raising students to answer the call
from God to GO!

**School Supply
Sunday -- August 22**
Proverbs 14:31
tells us that God is honored when we help the needy. For the fourth year,
The Hope Chest is providing an opportunity for us to be blessed by giving school
supplies for children in our community. The list of suggested supplies is
printed below.
You may bring
school supplies with you any time from now until August 22! The drop-off
point is the foyer (look for the designated box or shopping cart :~)
Whatever you can bring will be appreciated and useful!
Grownups -- this
is a great opportunity to teach our kids sharing and giving to others. May
we all work together to share God’s love in this very tangible way. To Him
be all the glory!
