**School Supply Sunday**

 

Proverbs 14:31 tells us that God is honored when we help the needy.  For the fourth year, The Hope Chest is providing an opportunity for us to be blessed by giving school supplies for children in our community.  Sunday evening marks the end of our school supply drive. Thank you for sharing God’s love in this very tangible way!

 

The supplies most needed are:

wide-rule single subject notebooks

2-pocket folders with brads

small school boxes

pens - red, blue, black

yellow highlighters

glue sticks (big & small)

**Prayers for Comfort and Healing**

• Aiden Blasdel (4 month old son of Ashley) has a mild case of pneumonia.

• Prayers are requested for Aubry Hargrove, a friend of Azia Blasdel’s, who has extensive injuries due to a car accident on 8/14/10.  She is in Sparks Hospital ICU.

• Praise! Betty Williams, sister of Barbara Aldridge, received a good report from her scan last week.  She does not need any more chemotherapy treatments!

• Clayton Amos is at Covington Court Rehab Center, room 123. He is in therapy much of the morning but would enjoy brief visits after 2 PM.

• Frances Strawhacker is back at Summit Hospital, room 251.

• Inez Hatfield is having trouble breathing due to excess fluid around her heart.  She is  receiving out-patient treatments at St. Edward Hospital.

• John Gardenhire was dismissed from the hospital and is with his parents, Warren & Elizabeth.

• Sam Jenkins, Kerry’s father, had surgery on 8/15/10.  Please pray for complete healing.

 

**Bereaved in Prayer**

• Betty Moreton in the death of her brother, Pete Barton on 8/12/10 in Hot Springs, AR.

• Tia Hayes in the death of her aunt Shirley in North Carolina on 8/16/10.

• Friends of Johnny Mahan (former minister of Midland Blvd. Church of Christ) who died last week.

• Congratulations to Harvey & Sue George on the arrival of a grandson. Connor Joseph George was born August 2 to Chris & Amy George. Connor weighed 6 lbs., 2 oz.

Inner City Lunch @ Hope Park

Join in on this outreach and service project to the homeless of Fort Smith.  Last month, we had over 30 show up to help feed nearly 80 people.  Come be the hands and feet of Jesus.
