**Re-Opened** “On
Sunday morning while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb
and saw that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.” – John
20:1 Think about the word open. It is filled with
possibilities. We love it when we are greeted by the sign that says,
“YES! We are OPEN for business.” That is much better than the
apologetic “Sorry, We are CLOSED.” We long to open packages sent by
a friend or our favorite shop. An open mind is able to grow.
An open heart is able to love. When something is open, there are
truly options. When Joseph of Arimethea rolled a stone in
front of the opening to the tomb carved in the rock he wasn’t thinking
about options (Mark 15:46). He thought that he was closing up the
ministry of Jesus. Even when Mary Magdalene first saw the opened
tomb, she was thinking that the body had been pilfered. But when
they saw the resurrected Lord everything opened up before
them. Are we willing to open our lives up to the significance
of the resurrection? Have we thought about the options and the
opportunities that the resurrection creates? Shall we open our
hearts and minds to the Spirit of God? I will be the first to admit
that it can be intimidating, but even that which has been closed can be
re-opened!
