Shane
Hughes, our campus minister, is
transitioning to a new role in God's Kingdom. Shane has
accepted an associate position at the Campbell Church of
Christ, just outside of San Jose, CA. There he will work
with young adults and after three years serve as Campbell's
full-time preacher. We thank God for Shane's work with
the LFC for the past four and half years.
While it is difficult to see Shane and Natalie go,
we are grateful for their service and work for God here in the
River Valley. We are supportive of and hopeful about
their future ministry. We thank God for the relationship
that we have built with the Hughes'. That friendship
endures beyond this phase in the ministry and we look forward
to hearing from them often.
Shane and Natalie will remain in Fort Smith through
mid-July. There is a farewell blessing and reception
planned for Sunday afternoon, June 26, 4:30 to 6:00
PM.
We remain confident in and committed to the mission
of the Lions for Christ. The LFC was formed as an
outreach to all University of Arkansas Fort Smith
students. We are seeing the fruit of this ministry in
the lives of young adults who have grown because of this
outreach. Those students have shown great maturity and
confidence concerning this transition.
We are enthusiastic about the future. We are
prayerfully taking steps to find the next campus
minister. We will keep you informed of all progress in
this search. Very soon a search team will be
formed and volunteers will step in to help out during the
transition. Please lift up the search team, those
volunteers and our wonderful LFC students in your prayers
during this transition. Pray that God will continue to
guide this work with wisdom, that our students will continue
to grow in faith and love, and that we all may complete the
work He has set before us.

Notes
of Thanks
To
Myra's Care Group, We cannot begin to express our
gratitude to you -- in good times and bad you have been there
for Mom. For the fellowship, visits, cards, meals and love --
thank you. I never doubted that I could call on any one
of you at any time and you would be there with open arms and
servant hearts. Thank you for being there for Mom's life and
thank you for being there as Mom left this life to begin a new
one. I know the Lord will tell you "Well done my good
and faithful servant" and Mom will be waiting there for you
also. I love and appreciate each and everyone of
you.
