Broyles Visitation
MinistryThe Visitation Ministry is an
outreach that both blesses and is blessed in
return! We have a list of people who enjoy visits,
prayers and encouragement, and even some who need a trip
to the grocery store or to a doctor's
appointment. There is no set date or time.
Our list is updated periodically and sent to everyone
who participates in visitation. Currently, we have
one man who needs another man to partner with him for
visits. Interested? See or call Earl Flood
or the office at 452-1240.

"A Holiday in September" at the home of Jack &
Janice Lowry. They are not telling which holiday it will
be. Come be surprised as we celebrate a future or
maybe a past holiday. The van will leave the Annex
at 11:30 on September 3rd. Call Bobbie, Mary
or Janice if you need
transportation to the Annex.
JOY
Bunch A field trip to Van Buren is planned
for Saturday, September 17. We will leave the building
at 4:30, eat at Sisters Bistro at 5:00 (pay for own),
and tour the Drennen-Scott House at approximately 6:30.
We will return to the building about 8:30. Sign-up list
is posted on the foyer information center bulletin board
through Sunday, September 4.
Wedding
Shower You are invited to shower Ryan Almond
and Amanda Washburn with wedding gifts on Saturday,
August 27, from 5-8 PM at the home of Kristin Baggett
(1522 Saratoga Court, Van Buren). Ryan & Amanda are
registered at Target, Walmart and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
If you would like to co-host, contact Kristin Baggett.
Baby
Shower Come help us celebrate Kevin &
Jill Robert's new grandson, Sawyer Dortch, who was born
to Brad & Katie and big sister Sydney on July
22. The shower will be in the church annex on
Sunday, August 28 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. Sawyer is
not registered, but baby boy clothing and diapers are
especially welcomed! (Room colors are blue and brown.)
Time for
Tutoring! Tuesdays, 3:15 - 5:00 PM If the
road to Heaven is paved with good works, along the way
are saints on their knees working quietly, not looking
for praise, but adding their good works (gemstones) to
the path leading others to Heaven.
If the
Tutoring Program is to continue this year, it needs some
saints to volunteer to be tutors, subs, meal providers
and van drivers. Out of a congregation of 600, only four
people have signed up to tutor this year, and no one has
signed up to be a sub. A few are willing to provide
food, and one, who is at work during this time, has
given money for milk. If you have Tuesday afternoons
free from October through April, please come and lay a
gemstone down. What will you be doing during that time
that is more important?
Please look for the
little red schoolhouse in the foyer and sign up.
If you have questions, please call Sheila Vaught
or talk to Karen Farris, Leslie Holland, Jack
Lewis or any of our past tutors. --Sheila
Vaught
