The
2011 Hope Chest Toy Giveaway is drawing near! The
Giveaway will be held again in the Family Life Center on
December 10 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Last year
over 400 people were able to choose Christmas gifts for
their children. The Lord was blessed by your efforts,
and it was great fun working together toward a common
goal. Thanks to all who participated.
The
Giveaway enables the West-Ark congregation to use our
varied talents to show a servant's heart to our
community. There are many ways to
contribute. Everyone has a "spot" here! The
following is a time line of the events leading to the
Toy Giveaway.
- Dec. 4 -- Dress A Doll
- If you took a doll to dress up and make beautiful
again, please return her on Sunday.
- Dec. 4 -- Youth Group
- WAYG works on goodie bags and other projects at
the CURE warehouse.
- Friday, Dec. 9, 10 AM to 6 PM
- Help put out the toys at the Family Life Center
- Friday, Dec. 9 -- Bring cookies to the Family Life
Center from 10 AM until 6 PM to feed the shoppers.
- Dec. 10, 9:30 AM -- Participate in devotional for
West-Ark workers. Workers may enter through the
double-glass front doors (under the canopy) to avoid
the crowd.
- Dec. 10, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM --- Hope Chest Toy
Giveaway begins and people are needed to assist and
check out shoppers. In past years, all ages have
joined together to offer help and lots of Christmas
spirit.
- Dec. 10, 1:00 PM-? -- Clean up the Family Life
Center after the event. Many workers make for a
fast clean up, and we were finished by 2:00 last year.
The Toy Giveaway grows each year because of
the great folks at West-Ark. So whether by fussing
over a doll, baking cookies, working on toys, helping
shoppers, or prayers, your participation is vital to its
success! Let's do it again!

Mission
Pledges Whether you made a
pledge or contribution to the mission fund on Nov. 6 or
not, you can always make a special contribution to
mission fund. All we ask is that your contribution
is earmarked for the mission fund since this a unique
account used to support various mission projects.
Here are some simple suggestions that will help you
earmark your gift properly and also help you stay on
schedule with your pledged giving to the mission fund in
2012. 1. Mission Fund Envelopes - There are
envelopes available on the bulletin rack at the entrance
to the auditorium. They have blue printing on them
that reads . . . An extra gift of love for
missions/West-Ark Church of Christ. Pick up one of
these, put a check or cash in the envelope and drop it
in the contribution tray during worship. 2.
Your Own Envelope - You can take any envelope and write
"MISSIONS" on the front of it and the enclosed check or
cash will be added to the mission fund. This might
be a handy way to plan your giving for 2012. Take
12 envelopes and write the word "MISSIONS" on the front
for our benefit and write the name of each month on the
back for your benefit. You may even want to
pre-write the check for each month (or other pay period)
and put these in the envelopes. You can keep these
envelopes in your own organizer and put them in the tray
at the right time. 3. Mail It In - Of
course you can always mail in your check. Just
address it to the West-Ark Church of Christ, 900 N.
Waldron Road, Fort Smith, AR 72903. Label the
envelope Attn: Mission Fund and write the word
"missions" on the check memo. 4.
Electronic Payment - Do you have online banking?
Many banks offer this option and more people are making
their contributions and pledges with this service.
Once again, just have the word "mission" printed in the
memo of the check that your bank will send to us.
You may even set up the payment for auto-draft or a
monthly reminder. This option works well for
general contribution also. Just earmark the check
"general contribution" in the memo for this
option. The office staff will be happy to
help you with electronic options or other means of
regular giving and contribution. Contact us if you
have any questions.
