A
Letter from Travis Campbell, West-Ark's Campus
Minster
To the brothers
and sisters of the church in West-Ark,
I
must start out with expressing my thankfulness for the
opportunity to serve our gracious and loving God with
you. I must also thank our God for bringing me here and
presenting the opportunity.
Just for a
little background information on me: I was born and
raised in Del City, OK with grandparents who led me to
God and Rick Odell who showed me how to follow
Jesus. (By the way: only believe the good stories
he tells about me.) Eventually I wound up at
Oklahoma Christian University studying Bible, Youth
Ministry, and Family Studies where I graduated Cum Laude
and worked with the Choctaw Church of Christ for 2 1/2
years as a youth minister. After graduation I moved to
Plano, TX for a year before taking off to Tucson, AZ to
do youth ministry for another 3 1/2 years. Then after a
brief few months in Brentwood, CA the grace of God
brought me back to Oklahoma to preach for the Okemah
Church of Christ for the past 1 1/2 years. Now my path
has led to Fort Smith. (insert dramatic music
here_____)
It is with great humility and
much prayer that I now take on the mission of campus
ministry. I would like to thank everyone who have
already been so kind and encouraging to make me feel
welcome as part of your family. Now the way I see it,
the only way our relationship will grow deeper is to
talk to you. So please do not hesitate in
approaching/emailing/calling/texting or looking me up on
Facebook. You can try carrier pigeon as well, but the
other options are probably quicker.
I am
encouraged to take on this ministry opportunity with
West-Ark and understand that this mission is more than
just the campus aspect but being a part of the church as
a whole. I'm looking forward to seeing what God is
capable of doing with His church and me as we take on
this challenge together to plant seeds for the Kingdom,
invite people into the heart of God, and revolutionize
our mission field in Fort Smith with the love of
Jesus.
Grace and
Peace, Travis Campbell
