Spiritual Success or Distress?
teacher's guide intro

Dear Teacher,

The teacher guide sheets for the teachers of the Sunday morning adult classes contain suggestions and insights to assist teachers as you prepare for each class. These classes begin the first Sunday in the next quarter.

Your immediate help is needed in two specific ways. First, obtain your copy of the teacher manual (teacher guide sheets) promptly. I want each of you to have these teacher guide sheets. Please use the month prior to the start of the lessons in preparation and prayer for your class. Remember: the objective in the year is to change the lives of adult Christians by making Jesus their powerful, relevant example.

You should meet soon with other teachers for a brief meeting (no more than 30 minutes). The purpose of this meeting is to make sure that there is no confusion about the format of your manuals.

Second, attend resource meetings each week to answer questions, guide discussions, examine concepts, and deepen understandings. Each of these meetings will focus on the next Sunday's lesson. These meetings provide you another resource for making the coming class insightful.

It is extremely important for your class to begin well. It is very important that the first lesson be insightful and thought-provoking. To provide you additional resources for your first class, the first meeting must occur in the preceding month.

Much work and prayer was invested in preparing this material. Will you make a serious investment of work and prayer in preparation and presentation?

Thanks! God guide us!

For Your Information

People who are not attending Sunday morning Bible classes should be encouraged to begin attending the classes. Several means should be used in the preceding month to encourage adult attendance and study.

We need an effective means of directing new members to classes. Following are the classroom designations made at West-Ark for the sake of new students in the classes.

  • College Age
  • 20's-30's
  • 30's-40's
  • 30's-40's
  • 40's-50's
  • 40's-50's
  • 55+
  • Adult Intergenerational (auditorium)

There is no desire to break up your class or to request your class to adopt a new group dynamic. No one is being asked to leave his or her class. Adults who begin attending Bible class will be directed to a class on the basis of the age designations. The objective is to direct new students to a class in a simple and easy manner. Make them feel welcome and a part!
