FOREVER INVESTMENT

Every day these four things compete for our time and attention: the struggle to meet the needs of the day, the longing to fulfill our own hopes, the striving after our children's dreams, and preparing ourselves and those we love for eternity.

But, if we boil it all down to what really matters -- the more our first three purposes point toward the last, the more powerfully God is able to work in our lives, and the more effective influence we can become in the lives of others. Have you ever asked yourself, "How much of what I have done today will effect eternity and last forever?"

Remember this -- the time we invest today in eternal matters is a forever investment. We should never sell the little things short, especially when it comes to investing time in our young people. I want to thank everyone who helped us plan and prepare for LTC 2000. As you have interacted with our young people, you have helped to shape eternity for them. Thirty-nine (39) of our 3rd - 12th graders from West-Ark joined over 2000 youth in Tulsa for the Leadership Training for Christ Convention this past weekend.

Everyone who is interested is invited to join us this Sunday Night after evening services in the FLC for an awards celebration and pizza party as we celebrate the accomplishments of our youngsters who participated in LTC. Please sign up in the foyer if you would like to join us so we will know how many to plan for. Bring your favorite dessert … everything else is provided.

You asked for it, and so we are providing Teacher Training for Junior and Senior High Teachers on Saturday, May 20, and Saturday, June 17. These two sessions will be held on Saturday mornings (9 a.m. to 12 noon) and each one will be different.

The overall thrust of these workshops will be to train teachers to simplify their teaching role while magnifying the student's role. If you would like to learn ways to teach that actually increase student responsibilities while at the same time are more compatible with student interest and involvement ... make plans now to join us for this extremely timely workshop. Pre-register with the church office by May 15 to insure space and class materials.

See you in Bible Class this week!!!
