It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in
charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep
watch. Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the
house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the
rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you
sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: "Watch!"
-- Mark 13:34-37
This parable has in it some of the features of that of the talents (Matthew
25:14-30) and the pounds or minas (Luke 19:12-27). As Christians, we have
both a privilege and a responsibility to use what the Lord has given us to
faithfully serve Him. Like a doorkeeper who must watch because he does not
know when the owner will return, we too must be on guard because we do not
know when the Lord will come back.
Every Christian is a God-gifted person. Every spiritual gift is an
assignment. Do you know where your assignment from God is? Are you
faithfully using your gifts and talents for Him?
Sunday, June 3, is our Ministry Fair at West-Ark to provide you with the
opportunity to find out about various ministries of our congregation. The
revised Member Involvement Form will be available at that time for you to
fill out if you haven't already done so.
See you in Bible Class!
