ASK, SEEK, & KNOCK

Does it ever seem like to you that our Heavenly Father seems to do more for some believers than others? Recent converts often tell stories of dramatic answers to prayer, even as those of us who have been in the Family for a long time struggle under the weight of problems our Father could have lifted from our backs long ago.

Why does a Father of unlimited resources seem tight-fisted with some of His children while being so open-handed with others? And why does a Father who is everywhere at all times seem to withdraw from some while walking so closely with others?

I'm convinced that the answer could be found in these verses from Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

Jesus assures his followers that if we are persistent and sincere, He is able to provide the means for the otherwise impossible. Far too often Christians do not have because we do not ask, or we ask with selfish motives (James 4:2-3). Like a human father, the heavenly Father seeks to teach his children patience, persistence, and diligence.

Talk with your Father in Heaven today. He is waiting to hear from you.

See you in Bible Class!
