PRAY CONTINUALLY

The Lord taught us that we should pray continually. There is no request too large nor too small for Him to handle. We can be assured that He not only hears our prayers but that He has the ability to answer the prayers we offer to Him in faith.

He said in Luke 11:9, "For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to Him who knocks, it shall be opened."

As our 40 Days of Prayer with Jesus continues, may you be strengthened and encouraged as God answers the prayers and desires of your heart.

The holidays are over and our children are settling back into school. But for many children in our community, when the school day ends around 3:00 in the afternoon they have nowhere to go, no one to help them with their school work, and few who care about any of this. I am thankful to be a part of a congregation that does care about our community. Many at West-Ark not only care, but also are excited that we can do something.

In a few weeks, our congregation will be getting involved in the lives of our community's children (1st-6th graders) by tutoring them once a week in a controlled environment. By spending an hour and a half each week for the remainder of this school year, tutors will help with assignments and show the love of Christ to many kids who have never seen it before.

No college degree is necessary. Past experience is not needed. No age limits apply. All that you need is a willingness to serve and let your light shine. Watch next week's bulletin for more specific details. Pray that God will bless our community; may He do that by working through us.

See you in Bible Class!
