As Y2K draws nearer many people are wondering what will really happen on New
Year's Day 2000. Some people are convinced that the sky is really going to
fall on January 1, 2000, and it'll be the end of life as we know it on
planet earth. Others are skeptical, believing that the so-called experts are
only playing on people's fears as they hype the doom and gloom message.
Regardless of how you feel, the fact is that Y2K is drawing nearer and the
Millennium Bug is not going away no matter how much we think about it or how
much we ignore it.
The only thing that I know for sure about Y2K right now is that many people
have been talking about it for quite some time. That's why our VBS on July
19-23 is a spin-off of the Y2K theme. The specific focus will not be any
technical aspects of Y2K; but rather it'll focus on "Give Your Heart to the
King."
No matter what happens New Year's weekend 2000, the real issue for all of us
is, "Have we given our whole heart to Jesus, and are we totally committed to
Him?"
Kids, plan on coming to our VBS this week for tons of fun and excitement.
