Imagine Jesus is standing in your front yard waiting for you tomorrow
morning as you head out the door for work or wherever youre going. His plan
is to stay at your side as you spend the day together. Would your routine be
altered for that particular day? Would your conversation be any different?
How about your choice of TV, movies, or music? Would it be embarrassing to
allow Jesus to see what your eyes are watching and hear what your ears are
hearing? Would any form of entertainment be any different for you if Jesus
were right next to your side?
OK, Jesus probably wont be standing outside your front door tomorrow
morning and He wont be physically sitting in the seat next to you as you
drive down the road... but what if He were?... What if He is?...
What if the Bible really is true when it says that Jesus is with us wherever
we go, and He never leaves our side? I believe that even though we cant see
Him with our human eyes, Jesus really does go with us everywhere we go. If
you were more aware of that fact, do you think it would alter your lifestyle
at all?
The Scripture declares in 1 Peter 2:21, "To this you were called: because
Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in
his steps." Yes, as a Christian we are to follow His example and walk in His
steps. But think just for a minute, what if Jesus were to walk in your steps
and follow your example?
WWJD? What would Jesus do? Its a question that many people have asked
recently. But its a question that has often puzzled me since the answer is
not always as easy as Id like it to be. For instance, what would Jesus do
if He were faced with the everyday circumstances that you are facing? How
would Jesus interact with your family... how about your friends, co-workers or
associates? How and where would Jesus spend the upcoming Holidays?
"WWJDT? -- What Would Jesus Do Today?" is a new class that Ill be teaching
on Wednesday evenings.
One way to find out what Jesus would do is to study and search the
Scriptures for principles that are applicable to our daily lives. See you in
Bible Class this week.
