SPIRITUAL MATURITY

Ready or not, 1998 is rapidly coming to an end and within just a few weeks 1999 will be reality. Have you accomplished what you would have liked to for 1998? I wonder if spiritual maturity was somewhere near the top of your list of priorities?

Spiritual maturity doesn’t happen automatically as we grow older, although it does take time. It also requires deliberate effort to reach spiritual maturity in Christ. Basics in the faith are needed, but there comes a time when we need to "...leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity..." For us to grow it is imperative that we spend time in His Word and press on to a deeper knowledge of the Lord and His will for our lifes.

Our spiritual health is maintained as we feast on God's Word in order to possess the full, abundant life that He desires for us. One spiritual discipline that we can develop is regularly attending Bible Classes. At West-Ark we are blessed with an abundance of excellent and very capable teachers.

Are you aware that there are nine (9) different choices available for Adult Bible Classes this Quarter on Sunday morning and seven (7) on Wednesday evenings? If you’re not already taking advantage of the opportunity to study God's Word in a class setting, it is my prayer that you would consider the current class schedule and begin to attend. You’ll gain benefits that you can use both now and into eternity. See you in Bible Class this week.
