Jesus Christ has complete authority in religious matters.
Jesus placed that authority into his spoken Word.
- JESUS PASSED THAT WORD ALONG TO THE APOSTLES BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.
THEY WROTE IT DOWN, IT HAS BEEN PRESERVED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, AND IT WILL
JUDGE US IN THE LAST DAY.
- He gave the Word to the apostles.
"For I have
given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them,
and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed
that You sent Me." -- John 17:8
- By the Holy Spirit.
"These things I have spoken to you while
being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance
all things that I said to you." -- John 14:25-26; cf. Acts 2
- The apostles wrote it down.
How that by revelation He made
known to me the mystery (as I wrote before in a few words, by which, when
you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which
in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed
by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets. -- Ephesians 3:3-5
- That Word will judge us.
And I saw the dead, small and great,
standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened,
which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works,
by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who
were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And
they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were
cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found
written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. -- Revelation
20:12-15
- The Word has been preserved.
Having been born again, not
of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives
and abides forever. -- I Peter 1:23

will judge us, along to the Apostles who wrote it down in the New
