Preventing Apostasy
- Introduction
- Revelation 17:14; 2 Thessalonians 2:14; Matthew 22:14; 1 Peter 2:9; Ephesians
1:4; Revelation 2:10; 2 Peter 1:10.
- The Danger of Falling.
- Someone will be lost eternally. (Once Saved) 2 Peter 2:20
- The majority of New Testament written for this purpose.
- Jude 5; 2 Timothy 4:10; Luke 17:32; Hebrews 10:29; Galatians 6:9.
- Power to Stand.
- We must use everything God has given us in order to stand. Ephesians 6:10.
- Ephesians 3:20; Isaiah 59:1; John 3:16; Romans 8:37.
- Some Rules We Must Observe.
- Bible study is essential to salvation.
- Psalms 119:11; Matthew 4:1-11.
- John 12:48; "Reject" . . . Contrast with the Christian who will not study. Hosea 4:6; 2
Timothy 3:15,17. How many times through Bible, Bible through you. John 17:3; 1
Corinthians 1:21.
- No Growth Without Bible Study. 1 Peter 2:2 (no desire sick); Acts 20:32; James 1:21;
2 Timothy 2:15.
- Trust God.
- Jeremiah10:23; Proverbs 14:12.
- Proverbs 3:5-6, 23.
- Prayer. Matthew 7:7; Luke 18:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:17
- Lay up treasures in Heaven. Matthew 6:19-21
- We can play "Corban" with our time, talent, and possessions and lose our souls.
Matthew 15; Mark 7:11
- Avoid excuses made by Teenagers, Young Married, Older Married.
- Attend as many services as possible, Hebrews 10:25.
- Be considerate of one another. Hebrews 10:24; 3:13; Galatians 5:15; Genesis 13:8;
Ephesians 4:31,32; John 13:34, 35.
- Conclusion: 1 Corinthians 10:12-13
